Privacy Policy

How PitchMatch uses and protects personal information.

PitchMatch is designed to minimise the amount of information made public about young players. Player adverts are submitted by parents or guardians and displayed anonymously.

Privacy at a glance

  • Parent or guardian registration only
  • No public child contact details
  • Anonymous player adverts
  • Verified team details are sent to parents
  • Public player adverts and vacancies expire after 30 days

1. Who controls your information

PitchMatch is responsible for the personal information submitted through this website and for deciding how that information is used within the PitchMatch service. Privacy enquiries can be made through the PitchMatch Contact page or by emailing admin@pitchmatch.co.uk.

2. Information we collect

For parent or guardian registrations, PitchMatch may collect the adult's name, email address and phone number, together with limited football information about the player such as age group, general area, preferred position, playing day, experience level and travel radius. The public player advert does not display the parent's contact details.

For teams, PitchMatch may collect the team name, age group, coach/contact details, parent club information, league, home area, affiliation reference and safeguarding/welfare contact details.

3. How we use the information

We use submitted information to operate and moderate PitchMatch, publish approved anonymous player adverts and team vacancies, verify team submissions, connect suitable opportunities, contact users about their submissions, generate parent interest PDFs, investigate misuse and keep the platform safe.

4. How matching works

If a verified team expresses interest in an anonymous player profile, PitchMatch may send the parent or guardian a PDF containing the verified team's details and coach contact information. The parent then decides whether to contact the team directly. PitchMatch does not automatically release the parent's or player's contact details to the team.

5. Public listings and retention

Approved player adverts and player vacancies remain publicly visible for up to 30 days from publication and are then automatically removed from the public site. Administrative records may be retained for longer where reasonably necessary for moderation, safeguarding, dispute handling, security or legal obligations, and should be reviewed under PitchMatch's internal retention policy.

6. Sharing information

PitchMatch does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers that support the website and email delivery, where necessary to run the platform, or where disclosure is required by law. Verified team contact information may be shared with a parent where that team has expressed interest in the parent's player advert.

7. Children's information

PitchMatch is intended to be used by parents and guardians on behalf of young players. Children should not submit their own contact details. We ask users not to include a child's full name, school, exact home address, personal email address or personal phone number in public profile notes.

8. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of your personal information, object to certain processing, or raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office. Contact PitchMatch first if you would like to exercise a privacy right relating to information held by the platform.

9. Cookies and website data

PitchMatch may use essential cookies required for the website to operate. Where optional analytics, advertising or similar technologies are used, they will be managed in accordance with the cookie choices presented to visitors.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as PitchMatch develops or where its services, legal obligations or technology change. The latest version will be published on this page.
